Wow, the response to the launch of Revolut Metal has been off the charts and we're so happy that you're as excited about it as we are.
As you might know, we only had 10,000 cards up for grabs initially, and while we reserved this first batch for our existing Premium customers, the rest of you will get the chance to bag a Metal Card soon.
We know that a lot of you have a bunch of questions around the launch of Revolut Metal, so we crunched some data and answered the top 10.
1. When I sign up for Metal, will I get a card for free? 💳
Revolut Metal is a subscription plan that comes with a whole host of benefits, including an exclusive Metal card. The plan costs £12.99 per month and you can learn more about what's included here.
2. Will I be charged extra if I order a Metal card and cancel my Metal plan? 🤔
Yes, due to the craftsmanship that goes into producing our Metal cards, if you order a Metal card and cancel your Metal Plan within 14 days, you will be charged card and delivery fees of around £50 per card.
3. Why wasn't my card ordered automatically when I upgraded to Metal? 🤷🏻♀️
As we know that so many of our users may be travelling and will want their cards sent to a different address than the one we have stored, we don't send out cards automatically. Like with all Revolut price plans, users order cards themselves via the 'Cards' section in the app.
4. Can I use my other card while I'm waiting for my Metal card? 💳
Yes! You'll still be able to use your existing card and you'll get all the Metal benefits including £600 free monthly ATM limits, cashback in fiat or cryptocurrency with your existing card, access to our exclusive concierge service and more! We'll let you know when we have more in stock.
5. Why do I have to wait for new stock to come in when I've paid to upgrade to Metal? 🙄
While we understand it’s annoying, we only had 10,000 Metal cards and we reserved this batch for a selected number of our Premium customers. We have a bunch more cards arriving in a few weeks time, and we'll message all customers when these arrive.
6. I know that you're out of stock, but I can see my Metal card in the app. I want to be sure it will be delivered, can you confrim? 👀
If you can see your Metal card in the app, this means that your card has been ordered. We're currently experiencing a small glitch with our tracking numbers which aren't appearing in the app but don't worry - once your card has been dispatched you'll receive an SMS with the tracking number from the card delivery company, to let you know it's on the way!
7. How much does it cost to upgrade from Premium to Metal? 💵
Those on our Monthly plan can upgrade to Metal immediately and your account will be refunded for any unused month of your existing Premium subscription. For example if you signed up to our Monthly Premium Plan on the 1st January; and then upgrade to Metal on the 30th October, you will be refunded £6.99 for the month of October.
Those on our Annual Premium plan can be upgraded immediately and your account refunded for any unused month of your existing Premium subscription. For example if you signed up to our Annual Premium plan on the 1st January; and then upgrade to Metal on the 30th October, you will be refunded £18 (3 months at £6.00 per month) for the months of October, November, and December.
8. I'm a Standard user, can I upgrade to Premium now and then to Metal? 🤔
While that’s an incredibly smart move, you still won’t be able to order a Metal card right now as we're all out of stock! Just make sure you reserve your Metal card today by popping your phone number in the form here and we’ll ping you a message as soon as they're ready. Please just bear in mind that it could take a couple of weeks.
Once your receive a text from us to let you know more cards are available, you can decide whether you want to go ahead and upgrade your plan. You'll only be charged should you decide to go ahead with the upgrade.
9. Can I buy a Metal card as a Standard/Premium User? 🤑
Unfortunately our Metal Cards are a feature for our Metal customers only! We only have 10,000 Metal cards right now, and we’re reserving this batch for our Premium customers. You can reserve your Metal card today by popping your phone number in the form here. As soon as we have more cards in stock, we’ll ping you a message letting you know.
10. What is a Concierge? 🤷
You might have noticed that our new Metal plan comes with access to an exclusive Concierge service - not to be confused with support!
Our Concierge team can arrange anything from last-minute trips, to restaurant bookings abroad and more! To make a request to the concierge team, just head to the ‘More’ tab and select the ‘Concierge’ icon. From here you can submit new requests by tapping the ‘Submit Request’ icon and one of our concierge team will contact you via email to complete your request!
