Here at Revolut, we believe that everyone should have access to fair exchange rates, but how do you know when that rate is just right? Whether you’re swapping Pounds for Euros or Bitcoin for Ether, we’ve launched Price Alerts to help you get more bang for your buck. 💸

How does it work?

Price Alerts allow you to receive a notification whenever the price of a currency goes above or below a certain point. You can think about it this way:

Remember when you came back from that ski trip in the Alps and had some leftover Euros in your account? You can set a price alert for the GBP / EUR rate, prompting you to exchange your spare Euros back into Pounds when the price goes above €1.16, for example.

Setting up price alerts works with any of the 25 fiat currencies we support, as well as cryptocurrencies. For example, price alerts can tell you when to sell your precious Bitcoin, if the USD / BTC rate goes above $15,000, or to buy Ether when it falls below £600.

How do I set it up?

To begin using price alerts, you’ll need to update to the latest version of the Revolut app if you haven’t done so already. You can then set up up to 30 different alerts, easily turn individual alerts on or off at any point, or delete the ones that you no longer need. Here’s how it works:

  1. Tap the 'Rates' button in the top right corner of the app
  2. Under 'Alerts', tap the blue ‘+’ button and select the currency you want to receive an alert for (eg. Alert me if BTC goes above $15,000)
  3. Select the second currency in the pair (eg. Alert me if BTC goes above $15,000 USD) and set your desired price point ($15,000)
  4. Tap ‘Create alert’ and then ‘Done’

We’ve made managing Price Alerts really easy. From the Alerts page, you can individually enable or disable an alert or delete it by swiping left over the alert field. Also, tapping on any alert will reveal historical rates for that specific currency pair.
