Revolut for Business pricing is changing — for the better

When we started Revolut for Business, we were determined to do things differently, and that meant launching with pricing that was clear and transparent.

Over the last two years, we’ve heard lots of good things about how we price the product, and also ways we could make it better.

Today we’re excited to launch our new pricing plans for Business, and we’re especially excited to launch our new plan with no monthly subscription, available to freelancers and companies.

Fair, transparent and flexible

If you’re wondering how we arrived at the numbers for our new pricing plans, it’s quite simple. We based them on three key principles gathered from your feedback:

Fair — good value pricing regardless the size of your company

Transparent — clarity over how much you’re using and paying

Flexible — upgrade or downgrade your plan whenever you need to

About that free plan

When you're starting out as a small business, we know that every penny counts. We also know that sometimes you have a quiet month and don’t need to make many transactions. This is why we’ve introduced a brand new free plan, with no monthly subscription, for both businesses and freelancers.

The free plan includes access to our core features:

  • Local GBP and EUR account details and payments
  • Hold and exchange 28 currencies
  • International IBAN
  • Physical and virtual cards
  • Mobile and web app
  • Integrations with Xero, FreeAgent, Slack etc.
  • Open API
  • Corporate cards
  • Unlimited, free transfers to other Revolut users

They also include 5 local GBP or EUR transfers per month. If you want more than five, you can do so on a “pay-as-you-grow” basis. You’ll pay £0.20 per transfer (or approximate equivalents in other currencies).

If you want to make international transfers beyond GBP or EUR or exchange money, we will charge a flat 0.40% fee on any FX, and charge £3 per transfer.

On our free plan for corporates, two team members in total are included in the plan — yourself and one other. Team members can be either cardholders and/or admins of the account. If you need additional team members you can pay £5 per month to add more.

All of this is designed to allow you to stay on a plan with no subscription fee, while giving you the flexibility to make one-off transactions, and the option to go “pay-as-you-grow” when you need it. Check out the new plans here.

What about the paid plans?

As your business grows, you make more transactions and the size of your team increases. Our paid plans are designed to support you along this journey and scale with your business.

These plans include all of the features in the free plan, but also add a number of others, including:

They also include more free transfers and exchange. As with the free plan, if you need more in a busy month, you can do this on a “pay per use” basis.

I’m an existing customer - what happens to me?

We’ve designed the new pricing plans based on your feedback, so we’re confident that you’ll like them. If you want to change to a new plan today, you can. Just log in, go to Settings and move to a new plan (in doing so, you’ll cancel your existing plan (free of charge) and sign up to the new one straight away).

Alternatively you can schedule this change for the end of your current billing cycle at some point before October 1st 2019. If you don’t move by this point, or let us know you want to close your account, we will automatically move you across to a plan with the same monthly subscription cost (or equivalent in your account’s main currency). For example, if you’re a UK customer currently paying £25 per month, we’ll move you to the new “Grow” plan paying £25 per month.

We carefully considered these changes to make them fairer for as many people as possible. The new prices represent good value for customers given the costs that we face and we've largely priced to our costs, to achieve a more sustainable model.

Of course, a change in pricing can mean that some users unfortunately pay more. However, we're confident that the new pricing is very competitive and still represents fantastic value for money.

If you feel that the new plans aren’t right for you, you can cancel your account free of charge. Just contact our support team and we’ll be happy to help. If you want some more time to think about it without being charged, you can just move to one of the new free plans while you make your mind up.

How will I know how much of my allowances I’ve used in a month?

We want our pricing to be fair and transparent, so we’ve created a new page in your Settings area (see below) to explain how much of your plan’s allowances you’ve used in a given month, as well as how much we’ve charged you so far that month. We hope this will help you to better understand your usage, and will enable you to make an informed decision about whether you might be better off upgrading or downgrading your plan.

Is there improved flexibility?

Absolutely. Flexibility was one of our key objectives when designing the new plans. You can now move between plans in the Settings section of the web app, without having to contact support. You can schedule the change for the end of your current billing month so that you use up your allowances first.

Business comes and goes, so if you have a slow period coming up you can just move onto a free plan and keep your account open.

Which currencies are available?

We’re growing rapidly across Europe, so we’ve taken this opportunity to launch the plans in a number of new currencies, and now support: GBP, EUR, CHF, PLN, DKK, NOK, SEK, RON, CZK, BGN, HRK, and HUF.
