The last three months have been some of the most exciting times for everyone in the team. And since Q2 is coming to an end, we wanted to go through some of the things we're most proud of here at Revolut. πŸ’ͺ🏻

Vaults πŸ”

Seeing how many users wanted a stress-free way to set some money aside directly from the Revolut App, we rolled up our sleeves and built Vaults - the easiest & fastest way to save.

The feature lets you round up spare change from your daily spending and puts that money safely inside a dedicated Vault, which can be held in any of the supported currencies as well as cryptocurrencies. This means that no matter where you spend in the world, you can save in your fiat or crypto of choice.

Euro Direct Debits πŸ’Ά

Building on our Recurring Payments feature, a few months ago we introduced Direct Debits in Euros. These are extremely useful for paying for things like your gym membership, phone contract or even a mortgage.

But unlike recurring payments, Direct Debits also offer you more protection and flexibility, so adding this feature to our millions of users across the continent made perfect sense.

Top Up in Czech Koruna πŸ‡¨πŸ‡Ώ

Revolut was built with a mission to bring fee-free banking services to the masses.

By allowing our users in the Czech Republic to top-up their account in the local currency (CZK) directly from their debit or credit card, we got one step closer to delivering on our promise.

Near Me πŸ‘ˆπŸ»

Sending and receiving money has never been easier thanks to instant peer-to-peer payments via the Revolut App. But what happens when you want to split the bill but you don’t have everyone's phone number?

Just use 'Near Me' - a feature that uses your phone's location to find other Revolut users nearby, making things like splitting the bill, sending or receiving money a breeze.

GDPR πŸ‘¨πŸ»β€βš–οΈ

Early May brought chaos to many people’s inboxes as companies from around the world went on an emailing spree announcing changes to their privacy settings, for fear of being hit by some serious fees, outlined by the new regulation.

We didn’t really get why you had to read through all the legal gibberish, so we did things differently. We sent out one email, one push notification and we wrote a blog post covering everything you needed to know about GDPR - that's comms done right. πŸ˜‰

XRP & BCH πŸ€‘

Based on the huge success of Revolut Crypto and from countless requests from the community, we decided to add two new cryptocurrencies to our existing line-up.

So, about a month ago, we were extremely pumped to announce that we were adding XRP and BCH alongside BTC, LTC and ETH. Since we launched, we saw users not only exchanging fiat directly into these cryptocurrencies, but also creating crypto Vaults, that would automatically round up spare change and save in XRP and BCH.

Revolut Connect πŸ”Œ

We knew that business banking had been broken for a long time, with clunky interfaces and excessively over-priced services offered by traditional banks - so we made it better!

After launching our Business Open API, we also introduced, Revolut Connect as a kind of app-store, built specifically for business banking. The feature gives you to access to a set of custom integrations to connect your Revolut Business account with some of the most popular tools out there, including FreeAgent, Slack and, very soon, Xero.

New App Design 🎨

A few weeks ago, the Revolut app received a major redesign. The new Accounts screen now features a beautiful graph that displays all your transactions and updates in real-time, while the payments screen makes it easier than ever to send and receive money, as well as to make external payments.

The Analytics section which groups your transactions by category, merchant or country for every currency account you hold also received a facelift. The new graph will show you exactly how much you've spent, giving you that extra bit of control over your personal finances.

Budgeting Controls πŸ’Έ

Q2 also saw the addition of our shiny, new budgeting feature, which we added to our analytics page. It's designed to help you stick to a budget with ease, by keeping track of your everyday spending.

Just tell us how much you want to spend each month and we'll help you stick to your budget with a personalised, daily-budget breakdown. We'll even send you helpful reminders to let you know how much you've spent each day and how much you have left to spend, in order to stay within your budget.

Use it to set up a monthly budget for every currency you hold and make managing your money a whole lot easier.

Unicorn, 2m users, New Office 😲

One of the biggest announcement for Revolut this year was our Series C funding round led by DST Global. The $250m investment round made Revolut one of the fastest FinTechs to reach Unicorn status, valuing the company at $1.7b.

About a month later, we grew to over 2m users, helping us to become one of the fastest growing FinTechs in Europe! Then, just a few days ago, we were stoked to move into our brand new, state-of-the-art office in London. πŸ‘‡πŸ»

So there you have it folks - three months that were jam-packed with a bunch of amazing new features and some of the biggest announcements we’ve ever made. But don’t worry - we’re not stopping anytime soon. To the moon! πŸš€
