Coming Back Around: Daria’s Return to Revolut

At Revolut, we pride ourselves on nurturing a work environment that fosters growth — both personally and professionally. Daria Knapczyk, ATO Support Specialist, shares with us her story of leaving the company and how she returned excited to continue her journey on the rocketship.

What did your career path look like at Revolut initially compared to now?

I joined Revolut at the very beginning of 2021 when the Covid pandemic was raging. Initially, I was supposed to be assigned to general support, but a new sub-team (ATO) was created in the company.

Originally, the team consisted of only a few agents whose task it was to support our customers who experienced unrecognized account access or fell victim to fraudulent beneficiaries. The team was small and still in its infancy, so I can say that I witnessed its development.

In the first year of my work, my role was limited to work in chat. After my return to the company in June 2022, I was gradually involved in many projects: helping colleagues to increase their productivity, sessions on the quality of their work, as well as buddy week, which aims to introduce new agents to the procedures of our team and help them at the beginning of their career. My efforts have been appreciated. In February of this year, I joined the second line, which deals with solving reports from other agents, supporting them in solving more complex cases, dispelling any doubts, providing new ideas regarding procedures, and also accepting reports from other teams. I have made all this progress in less than a year and I hope this is just the beginning of my career as our team is still developing.

What was it that made you come back to us?

I left the company while I was studying and still looking for my place. I didn't quite know what I wanted to do and needed some space to think about my future career.

At some point, I began to regret giving up something that I really enjoyed doing. I missed a place where my efforts were appreciated. I also liked the mode of our work — I must admit that remote work is incredibly comfortable and allows me to effectively manage my time. There's an old saying, "once burned, twice shy", which I can't agree with. Returning to the company was a bull's-eye, which reassured me that I am in the right place.

How is Revolut as a workplace different from other companies you’ve worked for?

Before working at Revolut, I was associated with aviation. These are completely different environments and job specifications.

In my previous job, I was not allowed to be at home during holidays or major family events. In fact, I spent very little time at home and felt like I was missing the most important moments. This interesting phase of my life was a great adventure, but at some point you look for stability.

Working remotely at Revolut allows me to manage my time well and find a balance between work and private life. As I mentioned earlier, remote work has many advantages — I am grateful that I can work in the comfort of my home. I am more rested, I have more time for hobbies, and I have finally achieved a work-life balance.

At Revolut, we believe our employees are our greatest asset, and that’s why we welcome back those who leave us to explore new paths. Whether you leave to pursue your dreams or simply take a break, we can’t wait to hear about your adventures and welcome you back when you’re ready.
